Hypermobility is common in the generation of back pain. Research has been revealing this for many years and recently I developed a model to help the patient see what it means to have excessive motion within the spine.

Stuart McGill endorses the models I craft because it brings the research to the patients. It helps clarify as to the ‘why’ core stabilization exercises are often effective. We know that when one level is affected with injury, often we see the adjacent motion segment incur too much movement.

Understanding the root cause of the micromovements that cause pain can self-motivate and empower those with back pain. Careful listening within the history and palpation of the spine can determine whether hypermobility is present.

I now use Physitrack to help prescribe the targetted exercises for those particular cases. Come in and see me and we can determine this.
