Cox Flexion Explained as a treatment
One of the treatments I use here may be Cox Flexion or Cox Flexion Distraction technique. This technique safely applies targeted hands on therapy involving stretching and decompression in slow easy movements all while the patient is relaxing on a special treatment table. This table restores normal range of motion to the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal joints. It limbers, loosens and lubricates your facet joints and discs of the spine. It is most effective when used with other soft tissue and joint therapies which will be discussed in future articles on this blog.
Cox Flexion helps address pain resulting from herniated disc, bulging disc, slipped disc, ruptured disc, Facet Syndrome, Sciatica, Stenosis and Spondylolisthesis.
It works by relaxing the patient in a neutral, face down position on the special treatment table. When working on the lower back, a part of the table that is uniquely designed for such treatment is unlocked to facilitate the targeted and controlled, while still gentle, pressure the doctor applies to the affected areas.
By using isolated downward, upward and circular motions the patient experiences reduced intradiscal pressure to reduce pressure on any spinal nerves, restored joint mobility, and a realigned spine and joints among other things.
This treatment is known to reduce irritation of pain and gently increase the space between discs. Research shows that 70% of patients have good to excellent results following treatment and after a dozen visits over a one month period, maximum results were achieved. Studies also suggest that it is the most tolerated treatment by patients with acute back pain.
This treatment helps utilize the bodies’ natural design to help heal properly and Dr. Fryer can help assess your situation and see if Cox Flexion, in collaboration with other treatments or alone, is the best answer to start you down the path to better spine and overall health today. photo by Cox Technic
